In today’s gospel reading Mark 12:13-17, Jesus tells the Pharisees to “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and unto God what is God’s.”
We are to live as citizens of the world without being too attached to the world. Enjoy God’s gift, don’t pollute, be good earthly stewards. Pay taxes, obey just laws. Also, follow the spirit of the law, not just the letter. Understand why you shouldn’t speed or roll through a red light. Care about one another.
In the reading from St. Peter, our first Pope tells us to be eager to be found without spot or blemish, to be on guard not to be led astray by the unprincipaled.
All in all, be good to each other.
