I moderate it, but I want to find out why people think Catholics are right or wrong, how they’re right or wrong, and to debunk the myths that non-Catholics have about Catholics.

  1. I simply don’t know if Catholics are wrong or right. I question the doctrines put into place by man. Would Jesus really have wanted to be visited in a huge palace of a church and have The Vatican in rememberance of him…when he himself preached to the poor and less fortunate and led the same lifestyle?….I just don’t get that part of it all. I am 39 years old and I have 2 serious heart diseases. I will need a heart transplant one day and I have had more than my share of “near misses” concerning my health. I know that I am still here for a reason and I do believe that God has something to do with all of it, I just don’t know what yet. I believe there is a God, I just don’t know if he is Catholic. His son was Jewish, after all.

  2. Alexandra, thank you for visiting, and thank you for your honesty. I think you have to realize that most of the work and expense of building the Vatican, and most of the churches and cathedrals throughout the world, were donated by people who wanted to give glory to God. Do you remember how beautiful and oppulent the Jewish temple was in Jerusalem? Did you know that there is no air conditioning in any Vatican office, other than some of the vaults which hold precious artwork?
Do you remember the scene in the Bible where Mary anoints Jesus with perfume and Judas objects, saying that the perfume could have been sold for the poor? Jesus told him that Mary was giving God his due, that there would always be poor, and that God would take care of them. As for lifestyle, the Curia in the Vatican all have fairly meager salaries, if any at all. My bishop and priest earn the same-less than $30,000 a year, and are expected to provide for themselves with that.

I understand that you question why you are suffering, and why you have struggles. You are correct that you are here for a reason. While it’s true that Jesus was Jewish, he commissioned Peter and the apostles to go out and preach the Good News to the world. This was the creation of the Catholic Church. Christ planted a seed, much like the parables of the mustard seed which is the tiniest seed, but produces a very large bush…
I appreciate your struggles, and want you to know that God does not give us struggles with no purpose to them. God bless, and please come back.

What say you???
